"Nothing can be more relaxing than spending time with family over dinner, a good sleep, followed by a bright future."
Hei peeps.!
How are you all doing?
It had been long since I had gone for a picnic with my family. And finally on 1st May,2017 (Maharashtra Day) we all were free with our respective exams and office. The night before it was randomly planned that we would go to Vasai for a day's trip. But the journey further...the places we visited was unplanned and erratic. Vasai was surely a wise decision to choose for picnic in summers as it is a spot for various beaches.
VASAI
Vasai is a town in Palghar dist. of Maharashtra. This place has been renamed a number of times. The Muslims named it-
Basai, The Portuguese- Baçaim, The Marathas- Bajipur, The British- Bassein and now it is Vasai. Vasai is originated from a Sanskrit word 'waas' which means 'dwelling'. Vasai earlier was drowsy and is now a developing town in suburban Mumbai.
We got up early in the morning at around 5:30 and left home at 7a.m. We traveled all the way in our car. In next 90 minutes we were in Vasai. Searching for Bassein (Vasai) Fort, we ended up reaching Suruchi Beach.
SURUCHI BEACH
Suruchi Beach is a vast shoreline. There are many huge trees creating a small jungle-like. In front of it a footpath is built on rocks at a height between the road path and the beach. Though the place is mucky but the scene and atmosphere is breathe-taking. The washrooms are so deplorable that you don't even would want to spend a second inside. The water level increases in the afternoon when the crowd gathers. It was a mixture of hot and cold air in that summer morning. We unfurled the mat on the sandy ground. Watching the birds fly, people shooting, feeling the breeze were amazing moments spent as we laid on the mat. After quiet a few time we clicked pictures and moved on for our next destination- Vasai Fort. There were a few camels which would give you the beach tour. You should carry your eatables and water as there are only some bhelpuri vendors and no snacks available.

VASAI FORT
At noon, we marked our presentee at the fort. It is very vast and immense in temrs of distance.
Vasai Fort also has a substantial history. After the Treaty of Bassein, Maratha army under Chimaji Appa (Peshwa Baji Rao's brother) took over the fort in 18th century. Unfortunately, The British attacked and took over the fort shortly from the Marathas. Presently, you can find only broken parts and fortification of this old fort. These ruins still makes you think of that time. You need a day, whole, to only roam around the fort and assimilate the details of its history.Tough I could not tramp all over. Vasai fort covers Arabian Sea. Nearby is Bassein Beach which is a popular tourist spot. After spending phenomenal 3 hours there we left for Arnala Beach.

ARNALA BEACH
There's a minimal entrance fee to enter the beach if you are carrying your vehicle inside. Arnala beach is located at Virar. It is widespread on the land. Arnala beach has many resorts if one has to stay there. People from Gujarat border also come for a day's picnic. There are many small hotels as you enter the main gate; many stalls of Chinese, pav bhaji, etc and Chaat vendors on the beach side. There was a man roaming with his pet parrot and everyone clicking pictures with it. After getting drenched in the water we changed our clothes in the changing rooms available there for which you have to pay Rs. 5/per person. We then had snacks and chaats sitting in front of that amazing sunset view. And the amazing trip came to an end...
