The Unplanned Visit- Mandore Gardens

"We do not see nature with our eyes...but with our understandings and our hearts."
-William Hazlett

Hei peeps.!

How are you all doing?
So here I am posting my first blog of this year, 2017. I know I took a long break to write blogs. Was busy in exams, college events and stuff. Will try not to mellow out for so long hereafter.

So lets read my story of trip to Mandore Gardens...

Me with my family had gone to our native during last Diwali which is in Dist. Bikaner. The next day of Diwali our train to Mumbai was there from Jodhpur. So we left Early in the morning for Jodhpur as we had to visit Santoshi Mata Temple. After that we had 2-3 hours with us before the train arrives and Mandore Gardens was approx. 20 mins away from the temple. I requested my father to take us there. He refused by saying that the place is abandoned and not worth visiting. On insisting he took mus there. And believe me the site is must visiting.

Madore Gardens is situated in Mandore, towards the outskirts of Jodhpur. It is said that Mandore was the home of Mandodari, Ravan's wife. There was a huge gate with 'Mandore Gardens' written on a board. The entry was free. Outside the entrance there were some stalls of food and stuff. On entering inside the gate we walked and walked through the path. There were monkeys hoping here and there, birds chirping. The sun shone gaily on the bright greenery. We could see beautiful temples from a distance. The monuments were tall, designed elaborately and had beautiful architecture. These were the cenotaphs of Maharajas made of the sand stones of Jodhpur.Mandore Garden house a fort, a museum, Hall of Heroes and a Hindu temple of 33 crore Gods. The fee is minimal for the museum visit. Also saw some pre-wedding shoots going on there. The tranquility was all over, away from the scurriness of the city. This place was vacated as not many people drop round to see here. the view is such an amazing here that you are bound to wake the photographer from within yourself and trap every part of this historic place.

Hall of Heroes:

As you enter inside and walk some distance, you can find this 'Hall of Heroes' on your left side. This place accomodates statues of 16 folk heroes carved out from a single rock. Isn't that amazing.!

Janana Mahal and its Museum:

This is the Mandore  fort which also has a museum maintained by the government. You have to pay a very minimum amount to visit here. The museum has stone sculptures of gods and godesses. This artistic palace was constructed for the royal ladies to be protected during the hot summers.

Ek Thamba Mahal:

This is a 3 storey pillar which was build in the reign of Maharaj Ajit Singh.

The Royal Cenotaphs:

The architecture of these temples just blow away your mind.I was struck by this masterpiece of artistic design.I couldn't explore the place well but enjoyed every single moment being there.
Lemme know if you have already visited or planning to visit.

Have a nice day.! :)
