Mix n Match

"Dance costumes are the first things in dance that let the the people know what the dance form is.! They indicate what the person is gonna do without saying anything."

 Hei Peeps..!

How are you all doing?

On this Sunday
(i.e. 13 November,2016) I attended a programme where I performed a Rajasthani dance. (You would have seen my dance clips on snapchat if you've added me there.) And I won 3rd prize...hurrayy..!
A costume portrays or relates to some characteristic, mood or theme of the dance. It gives an idea of the dance form.

For my folk dance, I mixed n matched clothes to fabricate my costume.

I wore a black skirt with copperish lace borders at the bottom.I picked up my black blouse(stitched by my mother) from another set which has bronze polka dots all over and it has full sleeves in black net. To complete my outfit I took golden net odhni from my cousin's closet which had floral border and mirror lumbas on the four corners which made it pretty attractive. Also I attached two big red and green lumbas to my skirt to give a more engaging look to it. Keeping odhni over the head was a need for the folk look.

Over to my accessories, I put bindi, wore mother's red, green and off-white bangles, her necklace set, kamar bandh from my box, nathni, head gear again made by my mother and lastly bracelet rakhis as my baju bandh. I added a plaited wig and wrapped around a golden sparkling ribbon. Now, if you wondering why bangles on full sleeves...otherwise the look would have been incomplete.

For makeup I just applied basic one with red eye shadow and red lipstick and my favorite winged eyeliner..!

Tadaa and my Rajasthani folk look is completed...
